Deep Tissue Techniques -- 6 hours each

This series focuses on the proper ways to utilize your body weight to give the pressure that the client desires.  This series is a 24 hour series that is split up into 4 six hour classes.  Each class is detailed below.

 

DEEP TISSUE BASICS 

We focus on the basics of body mechanics, table height and tools used for effective deep tissue work.  This course is highly recommended for all massage therapists who would like to incorporate more deep tissue into their practice, or for those who would like to refresh their knowledge of deep tissue.

 

DEEP TISSUE OF THE UPPER LIMB 

This session is designed around working the neck and upper limb.  Comprehensive anatomy of the neck, chest and arm are reviewed in this session.  Techniques that can help with conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome will be incorporated into the session.  We will also review proper body mechanics for the techniques learned.

 

DEEP TISSUE OF THE LOWER LIMB

This session is designed around working the glutes, hips and lower limb.  We will review the anatomy, endangerment sites, and common ailments of the leg and glutes.  This session we will learn techniques that can help with Anterior Compartment Syndrome, Piriformis Syndrome and ways to work the medial thigh.  This session we will review side-lying draping as well as proper body mechanics and table heights for this session. 

**Parts of this session will require your glutes to be exposed, as well as some Psoas work.

 

DEEP TISSUE OF THE NECK, BACK, AND GLUTES

This session is designed around working the back, chest, neck and glutes.  We will review the different layers of muscles in the back, neck and glutes.  Some over lap from previous sessions will occur.  In this course we will focus on the proper ways to work the chest, neck, back and glutes.  Injuries such as Whiplash and torticollis will be discussed in this session, and techniques will be focused around helping clients with these and some postural conditions.

Postural Assement Techniques -- 4 hours

Most people suffer from chronic strain and stress within their body.  Finding and working on these areas can increase client satisfaction, which can then increase client flow.  Postural Assesment Techniques focuses on training the therapist's eye to see the imbalances in the body so the therapist can better assist the client to wellness.  This class will focus on viewing the body in a stationary manner and while in motion.

Anatomy for Massage Therapist -- 6 hours each

Neck and Upper Back

In these classes we review the muscles of the human body, how they work and discuss how to incorporate the techniques you already know with a better understanding of the Anatomy and Physiology.  Each class I will specifically speak to one or two conditions for each location, and ways to

Pregnancy Massage 6 hours

Chair Massage 6 hours
